Matt Chandler, pastor of The Village Church, is a well-known leader in the Southern Baptist Convention and in Woke Evangelicalism. Like most Southern Baptist leaders, Chandler is known much more for his ill-conceived theology of wokeness than his faithfulness to and rightful-handling of the Scriptures.

But it would be necessary to say that even we at Reformation Charlotte are surprised that his church would create a worship song that has absolutely nothing to do with God, Jesus, or the Holy Spirit–but about microaggressions, systemic racism, and … Martin Luther King.

Here’s a short clip–the entire video can be watched at the end of the article.

Here are some of the lyrics from the Village Church YouTube page:

Our sovereign King gave a dream to Martin Luther King Jr.
A concept so beautiful hard to believe it could be true
But that dream was just a glimpse, like a flicker in the night
From the northern star pointing to where the freedom is
This dream it spoke of revelations of a nation
That no longer operated under a hierarchy of different races
Justice, unity, equality were realized

and

Cause it’s a daily fight to remind myself that I am worthy
When microaggressions lie behind every other corner lurking
We been hurting for a long time, weary souls
Why’s it seem like my brothers in Christ can’t understand it though?

By the way, did you know Reformation Charlotte has a Christian gear and apparel store? Check it out at ReformedGear.com.

Thanks to WokePreacherClips for digging this up.
