Jen Hatmaker Says the Church Isn’t Black, Gay, and Transgender Enough.

Jen Hatmaker, who recently filed for divorce after revealing that her daughter was a flaming lesbian after affirming homosexuality and other sexual perversions for a number of years, recently said on a podcast with Alicia Crosby that the church simply isn’t black enough, gay enough, and transgender enough for her taste.

“Today we’re taking an unflinching look at something that might make a lot of us feel uncomfortable, she stated, “We are going to look at the church’s role in the wholeness of Black lives. Without mincing words, this has been a place of profound failure for the American white church, because the center of the American church remains white, straight, and cisgendered. All kinds of people groups who fall outside of those lines have not been valued, much less centered. And this has had tragic consequences. Having said that, what is learned can be unlearned. We can hand back some of the narratives we were given from the time that we were little, and there are so many good teachers that we can learn from right now.”

In essence, what Hatmaker is trying to do is excuse her own daughter’s sin. After revealing that her daughter has been entangled in ungodly relationships and sexual immorality, Hatmaker wants to make the Church a more “accepting” place — where one does not have to be come face to face with the God who will convict them of their sin — and instead, placate them and assuage their consciences while continuing to live a life of rebellion against God.

That she says it is a “profound failure” for the “American white church” that churches don’t open their doors to unrepentant homosexuals speaks volumes of her bad theology. Lest anyone believe that Hatmaker, one of Beth Moore’s best friends, is actually a Christian, one should be turned to the words of Jesus himself in Matthew 7:21,

Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
