Lecrae is the “rapper who happens to be Christian” who is fully caught up in the woke social justice movement in the Evangelical Church. Lecrae has vocally opposed conservative politics and has denounced America along with its president, Donald Trump.
Lecrae, who has thrown his support behind one of the most pro-abortion political candidates in the country, Stacy Abrams, has clearly departed the faith to embrace a social gospel. Besides selling social justice records, Lecrae has vocally opposed the Church and is now jumping on board a movement that opposed the physical meeting of churches.
In a recent tweet, Lecrae insisted that the Church doesn’t need a building to be the Church. While on the surface, this is true — though for the most part, in today’s lockdown culture, the fight isn’t against the building, it’s against the gathering of the saints altogether. Lecrae’s tweet prompted a response from one of his followers who then basically said Jesus doesn’t want us to risk our lives for him.
The tweet, of course, was “liked” by Lecrae.
Of course, the Scriptures are at complete odds with this notion. Not only are the faithful rewarded for laying down their lives for God, they are rewarded for laying down their lives for eachother.
For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it. — Luke 9:24
And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death. — Revelation 12:11
