Communion is for Christians and Christians are those who are saved by the grace of God and responded in repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. What does repentance look like? It’s the natural response to regeneration — the new heart that Christ gives to those he has saved. It means to turn from that which we once were and walk in the newness of life. A homosexual who is saved is no longer a homosexual, but a Christian who desires obedience to Christ above all else.
Yet, there is an ever-growing number of homosexuals — both practicing and celibate — who claim to be Christians and desire to be at the Lord’s table. The only problem with this is that it isn’t the Lord Jesus Christ of the Bible who they want to be with, but a figment of their idolatrous imagination. You see, Jesus does not invite everyone to his table.
In the parable of the wedding feast (Matthew 22:12-14), Jesus compares the Kingdom of God like that of a wedding feast. Those who are not clothed in the righteousness of Christ — or those who have not repented of their sin and trusted in Christ for salvation (Luke 13:3-5) — and try to sit at the Lord’s table will be bound up and cast into Hell. They will be speechless.
One church, however, denies all of this and holds false communion for open, practicing homosexuals to come and blaspheme the Lord’s table. WOOD reports,
The First United Methodist Church on Fulton Street and Barclay Avenue hosted their fourth ever inclusive Communion service on Sunday night. This comes after Kent County Judge Sara Smolenski says she was denied Communion at her home churchfor being gay.
The lesbian pastor of the “church,” Dr. Joan VanDessel said, “We wanted to invite and sort of have a heart for every LGBT person that’s been harmed by the church, I’m a part of the (LGBTQ) community too, so for me, it’s knowing that experience of being harmed or not having access to the church. I think we wanted to reach out and be a different voice.”
This is just one way that homosexuals band together and congregate in unity around their perversion to justify themselves and to deaden their consciences against the wrong they know they are enslaved to. Sadly, these people do not find freedom in these false churches but further bondage. They cannot be freed from their sin because they do not know Jesus. They will holler “Lord, Lord,” and he will say to them on that day, “I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.”
