Lecrae Mocks Baptism, Gets “Baptized” in the Jordan River to Promote His New Album

Lecrae — also known as the “rapper who happens to be Christian” — has left the orthodox Christian playing field and embraced a self-serving secular worldview. Lecrae arguably started the “woke” Christianity movement when, in 2016 at the Hip Hop Awards, Lecrae mocked Donald Trump asking rhetorically, “when was America great again?” He then made an appeal to the crowd to “stay woke.”

Over the last few years, Lecrae has made himself at home outside of the Church doors with Pagan rap artists who use regularly use foul language, degrade women, and make racial slurs in their lyrics. Lecrae is a staunch supporter of pro-choice Democrats, one radical pro-abortion Democrat, in particular, Stacy Abrams, and has downplayed the sinfulness of abortion and elevated what he perceives to be “racial injustice” above this murderous sin.

After announcing that he was “divorcing white Evangelicals,” he’s been seen partnering with just about anyone who holds to the same prioritized view of racialism, intersectionality, and social justice that he does, despite their level of (or lack of) commitment to Jesus Christ. He even recently “liked” an article on Instagram where a black NFL player announced he was coming out as a homosexual.

Continuing his mockery of biblical Christianity, recently, Lecrae took a trip to the Jordan River to be “baptized” to promote his new album. It’s unclear if he’s ever been baptized before, though many commenters on Twitter testify that he has. However, one thing is clear, he completely missed the point of baptism. This baptism had nothing to do with Christ and was a marketing stunt to promote his new album.

“I was joking before I got dipped,” he wrote, “and I said if a bird lands out here like the dove on Jesus, 🦢 bruh….I’m gonna have a heart attack.” Then, of course, comes the self-promotion. “Can’t be baptized in the Jordan river and make the same old music. This new album is gonna be special.”

Today we got baptized in the Jordan River. The one John baptized Jesus in. 🙃🙏🏽🙌🏽 I was joking before I got dipped and I said if a bird lands out here like the dove on Jesus, 🦢 bruh….I’m gonna have a heart attack. Just take me to heaven cause God is speakin too loud! Well look at the pics. 🤯. I love the Jordan because of all the symbolism it holds. It was the border of the promised land. It was the picture of safety and security. Getting baptized in it was an incredible experience for me. 💦 🌊 Here’s an interesting fact. Baptism didn’t start with John the Baptist. The Jewish ritual immersion in water is called a mikvah, which is a Hebrew word meaning gathering of waters. Immersion in a mikvah also represents death and resurrection. When you come back out of the water, you come back to life as a new creation. When I was immersed into Christ ✝️(not just water) I also become a new creation: “Therefore, if anyone is in Messiah, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” The more you learn the Jewish roots the more truth comes alive.
