A few weeks ago, Reformation Charlotte reported that Charisma Magazine had promoted an openly gay worship leader, praising him as he dedicated one of his worship songs in an American Idol competition to his boyfriend. Charisma is like a bottomless pit of false doctrine and blasphemy. However, one of the former strong points of the charismatic movement was its unwavering stance against not only homosexuality, but Roman Catholicism.
That is, until the Catholic-Charismatic renewal and modern charismaticism’s spiritual father, Kenneth Copeland opened that flood gate calling on Christians to unity with the Pope of Rome and all its wickedness. The charismatic movement is wicked — and Charisma Magazine, the spiritual hellhole that it is, is at the frontlines.
Charisma News, a sub-entity of Charisma Magazine released a promotion of a Roman Catholic mystic named Audrey Assad. The article, titled How Catholic Charismatic Audrey Assad Connects to God Through Music, is generous, praising her “deep spirituality that drives her lyrics and her lifestyle.” According to Charisma, Assad,
grew up feeling like God was at odds with me; I don’t believe that’s true. And I think the [Holy] Spirit has been actively mending that in my heart for years. And as that happens, I find that as I’m freed from this self-loathing-based spirituality, you can love other people much better, at least I’ve been able to, and my heart for justice has really grown because I don’t see myself as separate from other people the way I used to.
