Trinity Broadcasting Network, the hub of the charismatic Word of Faith telecommunications industry founded by the late Paul Crouch, is hosting Answers in Genesis founder and president, Ken Ham on February 20th to discuss “defending your faith.” The event websites states,
Have you ever struggled to understand, explain, or defend your faith in the area of the origins of the world? The conversation surrounding how the earth came into existence can be a point of confusion and frustration for many in today’s cultural climate.
Ham will join Matt and Laurie Crouch, two false teachers who perpetuate the false prosperity gospel and make their living by selling indulgences of “seed faith offerings” to millions around the world who are naive enough to fall for it.
I really hate to report this, as Ken Ham is a well respected apologist and scientist within Christian circles and has had a lot to offer the Christian community in regards to apologetics and defense of orthodox Christian beliefs. TBN, however, is known for perverting the gospel of grace into sensuality — something the Bible warns us to avoid. Why is Ken Ham joining hands with these hucksters?
Discernment is dead today. If Ken Ham can make a coherent argument against Tim Keller’s attack on the literal biblical creation account, argue against the slaughtering of innocent children in the womb, and present the gospel in a way that even an idiot like Bill Nye can understand, how can he not see that these charlatans he’s partnering with are out to devour the very sheep he’s out to defend?
The Bible is clear, we don’t partner with false teachers simply because they give us a platform to air our message. While I have no doubt that Ham would present his message in a clear way, he also will inadvertently — at least hopefully — lend credence to Matt and Lauri Crouch, who are nothing more than enemies of the faith.
Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? What accord has Christ with Belial? Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever? What agreement has the temple of God with idols?2 Corinthians 6:14-16
