The Gospel Coalition, Gay Priest, Suggests Churches Should Help Singles Adopt Children

There is no doubt that the downgrade in evangelicalism is sweeping at an alarming rate. The Gospel Coalition is basically the epicenter of what many would think is the more conservative side of the Christendom equation–but it’s not conservative at all.

The Gospel Coalition has been relentlessly promoting a man–a gay Anglican priest–whose ministry advocates for physical, intimate same-sex relationships to be accepted by the church so long as they fall short of bodily penetration. At a recent ERLC conference, this same man–Sam Allberry–advocated for the redefinition of the family in favor of a broader church family, even suggesting that parents should share their kids with unmarried homosexuals in their churches so they “won’t feel lonely.”

Now, let’s put this together. You have a gay priest who feels lonely and wants to babysit other people’s kids who is now advocating for churches to allow singles to adopt kids because the nuclear family isn’t really as important as your church family.

Let that sink in.

God’s design for family is not single-parenthood, but now, The Gospel Coalition has taken this a step further putting out a video of Allberry calling on churches not only to accept, but help their “single members” who are “in a position to adopt” to do so. Let’s be clear, singles–gay or straight–are not in a position to adopt. Children need fathers and mothers. Further, if a single person has the desire to adopt children, but no desire to marry, this person should be looked at with a serious amount of suspicion anyways.

In the video, Sam Allberry suggests that children don’t necessarily need a mother and a father as long as they have their “real family,” the church. This vile reinterpretation and redefinition of family being ferociously shoved down the throats of believers is far more than unbiblical–it’s down right sickening.
