The United Methodist Church (UMC) denomination has been drifting toward full inclusion of sodomy and sexual deviancy for quite some time. While the current official position of the UMC is that “the practice of homosexuality is incompatible with Christian teaching” therefore barring open homosexuals from the clergy, many UMC churches have overlooked this and ordained sodomites to the pastorate anyways.

Now, The Association of Schools and Colleges of the United Methodist Church–an association representing 93 schools with over 260,000 students in the US–unanimously won the approval of a statement that calls on the Methodist General Conference to amend their position to full inclusion.

“We call upon the leaders of the United Methodist Church at this 2019 Called General Conference to honor the past and current practices of inclusion by amending their policies and practices to affirm full inclusion in the life and ministry of the United Methodist Church of all persons regardless of their race, ethnicity, creed, national origin, gender, gender identity/expression or sexual orientation,” the statement reads.

The special session called will be held Feb 23-26 in St. Louis, and is intended to “resolve” the issue that’s been dividing the Methodist Church for nearly 40 years. You can read the entire statement here.
